Inland Fisheries

One of four divisions concerned with Connecticut's biotic natural resources, the Inland Fisheries Division has jurisdiction over all fresh water systems in the State. Every lake, river, stream, and wetland is managed by agency professionals and seasonal workers within this division.

Hatcheries

Fish hatcheries serve as locations for the raising and propagation of sport fish species. These organisms are then transported and stocked in waters throughout the state. Hatcheries in Connecticut chiefly raise trout.

Community support is a crucial aspect of any large-scale conservation measure. The DEEP attempts to educate citizens by providing fish stocking schedules and periodically recording their activities in the form of Facebook Live videos.
